Vintage Fabric Collage

Fabric collage is an original technique that's a cross between collage and decoupage, created by bonding many fabrics together in layers. Almost every kind of fabric can be found in these collages.

Sometimes I start with a single piece of fabric that inspires me and then build a collage around it. More often, I start with a color scheme in mind and then choose various fabrics, or laces cutting them in a free-form manner and building the layers as I go, envisioning landscapes or underwater seascapes or even perhaps a dream-scape.  Each collage is one-of-a-kind.
In this fabric and lace collage I used a enormous I Am Roses Gardenia and mini beige crochet flowers to give this piece a beautiful touch.

I hope that I have inspired you to make one of your own! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Vintage Mail

Most of us enjoy brand-new happy mail on a regular basis. We receive those brand-new goodies to play with and get excited over it. Well this week I was fortunate enough to receive this happy mail and as you can see it's definitely not brand-new, it's not shiny, nor is it in that annoying package that we can't get the stuff out fast enough! A good friend of mine went junking and I was fortunate enough that she shared some of these with me. I can't wait to get my hands dirty and Scuffidi's up a little more than they already are, add even more character than they all need, and give them a good final home on a piece of art! Thanks so much my friend for sharing these beautiful goodies with me. I can't wait to come back and show you guys what I've made...
Thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesomely creative weekend!

A Little Birdie told Me

Hi Everyone Ivett here once more! For my project today I have photo intensive post to share, I was excited to use the lovely and incredibly detailed LaBlanche stamp called Framed Chickadee, it's just gorgeous, and so much fun to color.  I used a combination Starburst Sprays, Flat Fabio, &  Moon Shadow Mist because
of all the details.

Above I colored some branches I punched with Mystic Malachite Moon Shadow Mist & Greased Lightening Green Flat Fabio. I added some Liquitex Glass Beads on the Bird, branch, and leaves for added texture and interest. Then I went over the entire image with Tea Dye Distress ink. Bellow you can see where I added my favorite Tibetan Poppy Teal Starburst Spray to the frame then I stamped a French script background on a crisp white card added brown twine and voilà!
