Hi everyone welcome back to my blog! I want to share with you these “Gardens in a can” that I came up with using pineapple cans that I had left over from baking pineapple upside-down cakes for a bake-sale at my kids’ school. I was about to head out to the recycle bin when I remembered a project I saw a long time ago using recycled or up-cycled cans! So a trip to the $ store, a couple of bunches of colorful flowers, a few button, left over burlap, ribbon, my trusty glue gun and voilà born was a resplendent garden!!! So I challenge you to Go Green, alter something and come back and show me what you came up with!

Altered Pincushion Teacup

Thanks for stopping by and thanks Mom for the inspiration! Altered pincushion teacup I created for CHA Winter 2012. I used this exquisite little butterfly teacup I found on one of my antiquing excursions! Then I took some luscious fabric and some batting from my stash to create the base inside. Added some flat-back pearls, handmade some stick pins, sprayed my I Am Roses with my LSG sprays in “A Little Bit of Bubbly” and adhered everything with E6000 glue. Hope to have inspired you!!!

My CHA Winter 2012 Adventure

I’m home after an amazing time in Southern California, made so many new friends and was so lucky to at last meet some amazing ladies that I have known via the internet for a while. I hadnt laughed so much and so hard in a long while! I shared a room with Bona and Arlene {and} you would think we had been friends for years. All of my fellow Lindy's Stamp Gang Design Team members that I met for the first time were impressive… Tracey the fabulous owner of Lindy’s Stamp Gang made it all possible (thank you sooo much once again). I can’t say enough what an amazing group of people!!! So stick around and enjoy all the pictures and video I brought back of our CHA Winter 2012 adventure!

Beautiful teacups in many patterns and styles can be found everywhere when you are not looking for them! I was on the Hunt for teacups and teapots; you know those dainty looking vintage ones for a project that I’m working on. I looked all over the place thrift stores, garage sale etc. And this is what I have found so far a few teacups, cute tray with a Giraffe, an adorable spring/Easter teapot, and some awesome vintage recipe cards. I’m pretty happy with these and am looking forward to this weekend getting some more. Meanwhile I have a few pictures of what I found to share with you. Autumn Layout

When I saw this paper by Basic Grey I was drawn to the soft elements, warm colors, and clean design. I knew I wanted to use this layout as inspiration for a page about my daughter, Melliza.

I really love the colors in the Curio Collection line and chose to use it as my background page. The main focus on this layout is of course my daughter, but I decided to play up my beautiful I Am Roses flowers and did this in a subtle way. I love it when a layout has a balanced look yet moves your eyes to the areas that I want to showcase This combination of I Am Roses and Basic Grey papers is very versatile and can easily work when scrapbooking things other than Fall themed projects.

I came up with this beautiful layout after taking this picture of my daughter. I was playing around in Photoshop adding and omitting color to picture when and there it was! Don’t get me wrong the picture was beautiful in its original state, but there was something so captivating about in black and white. Don’t you think? Then I thought about pairing it up with my favorite I AM Roses flowers and Pink Paisleys Parisian Anthology paper line and it was magic!!! I’m posting this a little late because the image was missing. That should give you a little insight on how many pictures I take. I’m called the “Kodak mom” around here lol! I created this cute assemblage using left over lids from paper mache boxes. I used Webster’s pages paper, gesso, and lots of fussy cutting! Meeting Heidi Swapp

Hanging out with Heidi Swapp this weekend! I took a couple of classes over at Scrapbook Island in San Jose this weekend with Heidi Swapp and it was sooo much fun! She is awesome, charming, and super cool!!! My day started out loading up with some Starbucks Coffee and heading out to San Jose. I took both of her classes Saturday and I even got some one on one time with Heidi you guys! Super exciting!!!

The classes were filled with many techniques and a bunch of cool new products… Definitely worth going ;-) She’s got clever thoughts and is so knowledgeable. It was such a treat and I had a wonderful time there. I want to mention that I met up with my fabulous friend Beverly from The Piece By Piece at the class and it made it that much more fun she is talented and very funny! Thanks girl!

Hi Everyone,
So I came up with this idea after I went shopping the other day. I had all of these cute little cardboard boxes left and I was about to put them in my recycle bin when I thought, I should make something with them! I had a set of Tim Holtz Configurations box set that I gave away and hadn’t gotten around to “buying” another set for myself. So I decided to take some of my leftover trinkets, charms, flowers etc and put them to good use. We all have that little dish in our studios just overflowing with little cuties waiting to be used up so why not “Go Green” with it? Let’s recycle and start using our stuff up Ladies! Here are some of the things I used…

Give me pretty paper and I’ll start making beautiful things with it! I’ve been in my studio most of the day today coming up with some amazing things among them are these two beautiful cards. I used Graphic 45’s Curtain Call and Le’ Romantique paper, LSG’s Winter Jasmine Gold, SU punches and Martha Stewart punch. Ribbon, ribbon flower and lollypops flower.

I created this super masculine Bday card for a friend using Graphic 45’s A Proper Gentlemen’s line, Bazzill cardstock, LSG’S Starburst spray in Winter Jasmine Gold and black ribbon. I created this cute mixed media assemblage with my favorite paper from Graphic 45’s “Once Upon A Spring Time”. This paper is so gorgeous so when the swap called us to use our favorite paper I immediately thought about this one! The swap is called “Mixed Media over on YPP and we were asked to alter an Altoids tin. This was so much fun to create and I have to say that I will be sad to part with it!

In this project I used most of my favorite products which include and I’m hooked to lol Lindy’s Stamp Gang products, Graphic 45 paper, Tim Holtz, I Am Roses and many others. I used Moon Glow in Winter Jasmine Gold, Starburst Spray in Winter Jasmine Gold, and Desert Moon Blazing Sun this color combo gave my magnetic wall hanging a superb glimmer and hint of gold making it shimmer and shine without being too laud. Totally Aprons!

Hi Ladies so it’s been raining cats, dogs, and snow balls in Northern California! Lol and I’ve been sewing… OMG Me? Sewing? That’s incredible!!! Don’t get me wrong I used to sew when my daughter was little and she requested Princes outfits for Halloween and such. So I would become a brave girl and make her the cutest costumes sometime with an occasional malfunction!

I’ve never taken a sewing class because of time constraints so everything I know I’ve picked up here and there. Last week Your Paper Pantry hosted a Valentine Day Sweetie Crop where my friend Yolie {Yoliebean} hosted a class on a fabulous apron so I thought I could try it out and here is my result! So dusting my old sewing machine paid off and I think I’m going to take advantage of my time off and create a few more of these aprons. I totally enjoyed make it and I’m impressed at how it turned out. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think? Meanwhile I will try making another one…

It’s beautiful I have to say that I love every sheet in this collection! It’s like being in perfect paper heaven for me so you’re welcome to take a peek at my creation and believe me it wasn’t hard to come up with this project because the paper collections just inspires you to be creative! I used Lindy’s Glitz’s Sprits to give my project a special sheen.

Meeting Marlene {4umarlene1} OMG my new Bff!!!

I met with Marlene at her beautiful home in Miami and WoW what a beautiful lady she is inside and out! Marlene greeted me with so much enthusiasm and {cariño}! I was blown away by her charisma and knowledge. We spent some time at her home where she showed me her beautiful and elegant studio and she gave the cutest bag filled with spa goodies. If you haven't done so you must go and check her out as soon as you can! Her work is amazing you guys you can find her on her YT channel and at her Etsy store here!!

Then we went out for a little shopping at this amazing store/warehouse filled to the rim with scrapbooking goodness and then headed out to lunch. She treated me to some fantastic food {yummy} wish we had that here in California!

I can’t wait for us to meet again Marlene and hopefully you can make it out this way soon. Thanks so much for taking the time out to meet with me I feel blessed to call you my friend.

Elegant Quinceañera Card Box

Happy Friday everyone I’m back and here’s a project that I was working on and want to share with you. I created this Elegant Quinceañera Card Box for my daughter’s party.
I covered the box with French Vanilla card stock from Bazzill and accented it throughout with 29th Street Market paper by My Mind’s Eye to make it look like old vintage torn wall paper. I inked all of the edges and corners with Brushed Corduroy and Peeled Paint Distress Ink by Ranger.
All of this I accented with some Prima Pearls and created Rose clusters with Iamroses roses and Prima roses and leaves. I personally hand crafted the stick pins and added a sparkling bead from The Bead Gallery. All in all I think this project turned out amazing and it captured the essence that I was looking for. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Things I’m grateful for this year

As many of you already know Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. This year I have many things to be grateful for.

I have My Mother and she is regaining her health I have my Father and he too is regaining his health. As a family we have lost some special members but I’m grateful because I was blessed enough time be part of their lives.

“BUT” most of all I am grateful for having my own healthy and happy family where unity always reigns so I leave you with this special prayer and hope that you feel the same during this special time of the year.

O Heavenly Father, our loving God, you have given us the Holy Family
as our patron to bless and guide our families that the fruit of the
Holy Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, humility, and self-control - shall reign in our homes.

3D HALLOWEEN TAG SWAP

Hi everyone and welcome! I am hosting my first tag swap and what an occasion it is. Let’s let loose the witches, goblins, critters and bats! This swap will consist of making 3D Halloween Tag. No limits as far as you want to take this swap just be creative! I can’t wait to see what we all come up with.

Here’s the info:
• Sign-ups: You will need to sign up by leaving a comment here. Just post your request to join under this post by Monday September 13th. You will be considered part of the swap if you sign up here unless I personally contact you and state otherwise. I will accept international swappers for this swap. International swappers will need a PayPal account and I will send a PayPal invoice for the cost to ship the swapped tags
• Please make your tag with good quality, heavy card stock or back with light chipboard for stability
• Your tag should be sized at 2 ¾ x 5 inches or larger (tag shape can vary)
• All tags should you create should be the same, identical: charms, flowers, ribbon etc.
• Please include at least one embellishment on your tag (flower, charm, bling, ribbon, etc.)
• Include your name and blog/YouTube URL on the back of your work so we all know whose work it is.
• Place your tag in a plastic zipper type bag to prevent losing any parts or water damage during transit.
• Include a self-addressed/self-stamped envelope with your tags for shipment please use USPS only please. Stamps should total at least the same amount of postage as it took to mail the tags to me.

Your tags should be in my hands NO LATER THAN Wednesday October 13th please. I will ship the swapped tags to participants within a week so long as I have everyone’s tags on time. Any delays in receiving the tags will delay shipment for others so please be considerate of the deadline. :-)

Here are a few cards and a wall hanging that I created for my niece this past week. She has come a long way from being on life support to breathing on her own now. She gave us quite a scare this week and I am grateful that everything is looking better each day now. She is only twenty-one, and is the sweetest girl you could meet and if that wasn’t enough she has a lovely heart. Hopefully by Monday she will be able to leave ICU and I can spend more time with her.
